Updo, tangle-free headphones

Guess what!?! I finally can post this awesome craft that I have been wanting to post forever! So here it is:

Their so easy too. They just take a little while. The supplies you will need:
A pair of headphones, some embroidery floss, scissors, and some clear fingernail polish
I think you should probably learn how to do the "chinese staircase", it's a friendship bracelet technique, before you do this. I am going to try to explain it. But we will see how that goes. :P

1.  First you want at least three strands of string. They can be all the same color or different colors or however many colors you want. (I used blue and lime-green. FYI two of my favorite colors :) You want at least three strings though.
Cut a little more than you need rather than too little. If you cut each string 3-4 times longer than the area you want to cover than, that should give you a pretty good estimate. Remember too long is better than too short.
2. Knot one end
 3. Now you want to take a piece of tape, which for some reason there wasn't a single piece to be found in the whole house that day (don't ask me how that happened) so I took a label off of a fingernail polish bottle and it worked great! See? Sometimes you have to think outside the box. Like taco bell says. Mmmmm tacos. :P Okay moving on.
 4. Now take your strip of "tape" and tape the knotted end of your string to the top of your earbud.
5. You can either use a clipboard for this step or do it my way. Because we didn't have one I just used a close pin and a notebook.

 6. Take one string and separate it from the rest.
7. Put the end over the rest. And I kind stick my finger here just help.
 8. Stick the end up through the loop you made and slide the knot up to the top.
9. And repeat that.......and keep knotting......and knotting.... It's a long process. But I think it's definitely worth it. (sorry this picture is so blurry. :( I was sick)

10.  Then when you get to the end of a section cut your string and cover it with clear fingernail polish to keep it from fraying.
And TA DA! Beautiful tangle-free headphones.

If my chinese staircase tutorial doesn't make since you can look at a different one here on Wikihow.
If you haven't done it before I would practice on a bracelet before you cut all that string because my first bracelet.......yeah, didn't turn out well.
I LOVE my headphones now.......That's weird the lime-green looks kind of ugly in this picture.... Anyways

until next post, Happy fourth!! (man, I can't believe there is a ban on fireworks! The fourth without fireworks!?! Unheard of!)
