A first for everything

Wow it has been a while since the last craft. Too long.
What craft are we doing today? Earrings. This is only the second time I have made a pair of earrings and the first time I had instructions. Well someone once told me "There is a first time for everything." Well actually I think that is what he said.(Edit: He said everyone has to start some time. That's pretty close to what I said though right? )
I only have a picture of the finished product because I didn't think of posting till I was finished. But, I will try to explain how to do it.
(This is actually a friendship bracelet kit I got for Christmas but, I never can do exactly what they tell me so I made these with it.)
First you need to put the string through the top of the bottom bead then come up from the back and put both strings through the the next beads. (As shown below)
I hope that made since.
Then tie it to some hooks you can buy from Wal-Mart and there you go.
Oh, a note: I had to have my dad drive a hole through the top of the bead with the drill because they only have holes through the sides. And that would make the bead crooked. Also my earrings are a little stiff so I would suggest using maybe a different kind of string (I used some clear stretchy stuff that came with the kit) or attaching it differently to the hook. Or maybe both. Experiment. Well I think I have been on here too long already so

unp, (I have decided this has become my signature ending. :)

A late post on Christmas baking

Don't you just love it when you walk into the kitchen and you smell chocolate cookies baking? And just around the corner in the dining room you can hear laughing and carols being sung where the cooled ones are being decorated with Icing and sprinkles? Well that is what you would have smelled and heard if you had been at Jen's with us Sunday.
We had lots of fun getting flour everywhere especially on our selves.
And dying our tongues red and green from the sprinkles. =)
We also sang Chrismas carols while we worked. Or rather played.

Leanne was there to help some too.
Here are some of our favorite ones:

 Jen made this one.
Don't you love my cute little snow man?

And my little twins. I kind of broke his leg. Oops!
Jen also made these snowmen( and snowoman). I love the one on the right.
 And here's my santa claus

 Rebekah decorated this stocking.

I love taking pictures from this angle. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have also been doing some Christmas baking today here at home too. We (well I guess mostly mom. I did more cleaning.) made homemade cranberry sauce and my grandmothers stuffing recipe (without eggs because my Aunts Vegan), cookies (gluten free of course), and we are also going to bake some potatoes tomorrow and make a special drink and probably have eggnog too. :P
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tomorrow Rebekah and Silas will probably wake me up at the crack of dawn to open presents and search for our stockings( mom hid them this year.) Then we will get ready for church then we'll come home to get ready for company. I think our house is going to be pretty full. Pretty much everyone is coming. Should be lots of fun.And I'm sure I will have plenty of pictures. (When we decorated cookies at Jen's I took 88!)

Well hope you have a great Christmas eve and Christmas day.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

My weekend

So Friday I went to an Awesome friend's birthday party and then spent the night there with some other awesome, funny, giggly girls. Watched some movies and  stayed up talking till like two. The next day was the dance! So we all got ready together. Curled and fixed hair and all sorts of stuff.I will post pictures soon. :) So that was why I had to get extra reading done. Were(Rebekah and I) are at number two home now so I probably won't finish this book on time but, will soon. So that's been my weekend. Full of fun and little sleep. :)

It's a week till Christmas!!

Company!!! HALT!!

I was writing this post title and I just had to say HALT!!! It just fit so well. (Well not with the subject) lol anyways last night we had some awesome friends over for dinner and mom and I made a pretty yummy pumpkin stew if I do say so myself.

And in the shell no less. ;) We toasted the seeds from the pumpkin today *Yum*.(I am munching as I write.) =)
It was a lot of fun having company over for the first time in a while. I hope there won't be such a large gap before the next time.So that was yesterday. Cleaning , cooking, and then enjoying the food. And no, I didn't get any school done. Even without the little ones around it's hard. lol I guess you could count that as home ec. though. Hey! I did get some school done yesterday! hahaWell I better go. I am trying to get extra reading done for number two blog. Because I will be gone over the weekend mostly. Tell you about it later.

Off to read,

P.S. It's ten days till Christmas!! It's coming so fast!

Ahhh... Sweet music

I can't quite put my finger on what it is about  music  but, when I am in the right mood listening to classical music (or any kind of music I guess) is heaven.... Okay I am probably sounding really weird right now. But, It just makes me want to go play the piano. As my fingers lightly touch the ivory keys and start dancing and stumbling over each other in an attempt to make something worth listening to come out. Not succeeding. And in the end I usually just give up. Yep, That is my talented side. Not very talented. But, this guy on the other hand is really good.

It's a Sunday!

Well it's been a pretty normal Sunday we picked up CC and Louis and took them to church with us. That was some work.
And I got to learn a little Hebrew dancing. That was a lot of fun and I can't wait to learn more. Well this is a pretty short post. Hope your Sunday was as fun as mine. :)

Algebra, books, dirty diapers............

I would have posted a lot sooner but, I have been busy being a dutiful scholar/ blogger/ Aunt.
In being a scholar I have been trying, Trying not really succeeding, to do a little school. And surprising as it sounds yes I have been being a good blogger. I have been reading a lot so I can meet my deadline of a week for my other blog. Yeah, I don't know if I can do a book a week. And then last but, not least I have been a good Aunt. Which consists of babysitting  (One of the reasons it was hard to get school done.) changing dirty diapers, feeding, and making them happy. Then when they take a nap I do school and reading. Thus being a scholar/ blogger/ Aunt. Yep, that's been my last couple of days. But, I still love my nieces and nephews to death. And with another on the way I have a feeling it will be even harder to get school done once it's born. :) Did I mention my recent offer to become a housemaid? I have imagined myself many things but, a housemaid never entered my mind. Jen wants me to come over like once a week to clean her house. It's really hard when you have two babies and are pregnant. I am thinking about it. Oh, she said I can probably invite someone to help. Anyone else like to become a housemaid with me? Well Rebekah calls so I better go.

unp (until next post),

Now I can't wait to were it.

Tomorrow:  Christmas shopping!!

Well I need to get some reading done so

Another blog

So I guess the title is pretty self explanatory. I have a new blog called 338 books.
It's purpose well you will just have to wait and see.
Like this blog dad wants me to keep 338 books private so I have to send out invitations if anyone wants to see it. And normally I would just send you all an invitation but, I have decided that maybe some of you don't want to have yet another blog to read out of courtesy. So I decided that if you want (only if you want)  to read it just leave a comment and I will send you an invitation but, if not well that is one less junk e-mail.

Hope to see lots of comments,

A day the Lord truly has made

What a beautiful day. The sun is shining and I have been singing "This is the day" pretty much all day.
I got to sleep in late did a few chores cleaned the cars inside and out. Well dad did the outside I did the inside then I went for a bike ride. Nothing makes you feel more well.....I guess the word free works then going for a bike ride down our beautiful road.
With the wind hitting your face and.... well I won't go off on another one of my rambles.

"And all the birds of the air and all the beasts of the earth will know I am god."

"Be still and know that I am god"
(I can't remember where these are from. They just came to mind when I was writing this.)

My favorite time of year

Well it's rolled around again. Christmas. It's my favorite time of year because everyone seems to be in a better mood. Of course the day after Thanksgiving it was time to put up the tree. Done with one holiday on to the next right?
It is so much fun decorating the tree with mostly homemade ornaments and popcorn. (We are still in the process of stringing that :P) And then to top it off with an ancient angel. Passed down from generation to generation. Or maybe from grandma to mom. :)
Then to put up the manger scene made by my dad's grandma. Then it is my job to go decorate the mailbox.

Well the "Stockings are hung by the chimney with care" and the Christmas music is playing. Now all we need is the snow. Then everything will be perfect. But, of course in the midst of all this "hustle and bustle" you can't forget what we are really celebrating.
And that is the birth of our dear Lord and savior Jesus. Born in a a stable and lain in a manger yet he was the "King of kings".
Sometimes I have wondered what life would be like if Jesus had  never been born. And I can't. I can't imagine life without him.
Thank you Lord for coming to earth, for dying on the cross and rising again.

Experiment

If this alerts you of a new post leave a comment please and telling me if it does or not. Doing a little experiment.  :)

Jocelyn Adel Kaleyonna Szalapski

I just wanted to wish a VERY special girl a happy birthday:

Happy 2nd birthday pretty girl!!
Sugar and spice and everything nice, That's what little girls are made of.
Especially this one. :)

Just a quote.

Here is a quote I found:
         When I pray coincidences happen,
When I don't, They don't.    -William Temple

I tried to look him up see if he was a christian. But, unfortunately there are a few William Temples.
I just thought it was a cool quote. You can get back to your day now.

Well let's see. We Haven't really been doing much this week. We are babysitting at my second home(Jennifer's) right now. Mom and dad are gone on a trip for their 25th anniversary. Can you believe that 25 years! That is a long time.
So really we are all just enjoying life. And I don't know about anyone else but, I am waiting for the snow to get here. Can't wait! Well if your going outside today bundle up. It's COLD out there!

Hope to see you all soon,

P.S. I know my signature is still a pumpkin not exactly Christmasy. I will change it soon. :)

A Toddy Thanksgiving

Ahhh.... What a awesome day. A time when we all get together hold hands and give thanks to the creator for everything we have and of course to pray for those who aren't as fortunate.
It is one of the only times of year I get to see my whole family all together for one big feast.

The only thing that could of made it perfect was if Jen and Tommy were there.
But, Stephen and Jessie were here for a visit!
And Sabrina. Or as I call her CC (chubby cheeks)

We played drop the egg where everyone made a contraption

(That snake like stuff is foam.)
and put their egg in it (raw egg) then we drop it off the deck and see who's doesn't break.
Leanne and Rebekah's survived
Unfortunately Silas's didn't.
Then some of us played a little game of  what has become the annual tag football game.
Then it was time to eat!
Come and get it! Dad smoked the turkey while us women worked on the pies and other things.
I think our grain-free dairy-free (besides eggs) and sugar-free thanksgiving dinner turned out pretty well.

Sorry I was trying to figure out how panorama view works.

Mmmmmm...... Homemade applesauce.
"You sure you can eat all that?" Little brothers :)

That was such a good meal. We all ate till we fell over.
Even Stephen was full. And it's hard to fill him. :)
Or as the girls put it "Stuffed but, still eating."
Ah yes. This was the part that wasn't dairy-free. We bought some whip cream for those who wanted it.
And perhaps the girls got a little carried away.
Okay. So maybe I did too.
Hey I'm not quite an adult yet. I can still act like little girl sometimes.
Well that about wrapped up the day.
People slowly started filing out the door as we said our sleepy goodbyes.
What a day I thought as I looked around then the dishes caught my eye.
I quickly said goodnight. :)
